We had one on our GTX18 that was my grandfathers. Then my father retro-fitted a full steel cozy cab to it and we sold the soft door steel cab (for much less than the linked one). Shortly there after, my brother bought a GTX20 and was given the cozy cab. Wish we still had the original cab that was on the GTX18.

The soft cab isn't nearly as warm as the cozy cab. I also like the suicide door better on the soft cab than the regular hinged coz cab doors. I won't use the GTX18 much in the winter as I have a cozy cab on my Bolens 1250. But if one came up a decent price, I'd be interested.

I was wondering how warm my cab would be with the 3 cylinder water cooled engine in that DGT 1700, the radiator fan blows the air toward the front of the tractor. The cab is sealed well though and all metal other than the door but it is in a metal frame.

Any cab sure beats a tractor without one, especially if you are snow blowing. My 1250 is definitely much warmer than the GTX18 was with the soft cab, but as you mentioned above this could also be contributed to the engine air flow. On the 1250 the air is blown back towards the cab vs the GTX18 that is blown towards the front. I did use the GTX18 with the steel cab before it the cab was given to my brother but I can't recall if it was much warmer than the soft/steel cab.

Well if I remember I will update this post after I try it out. I've had a couple good suggestions, one being a small electric heater and the other a water circulated heater. Being that this Mitsubishi L3A in my DGT 1700 is water cooled and has a full blown belt driven alternator I may opt for a small electric heater in the future if the cab is too cold. For now I just want to see if my fabrication work on the blower and mounting system holds up.
