Hi, i just buy a new to me Bolens H1704 with a front loader and a rear mower.
Very powerfull tractor for it size!

Anyone know what oil to put in the hydro transmission???

From the manual;

"Use a high quality low viscosity gear-hydraulic oil such as Bolens 1738157 ore equivalent.

Not sure this is much help but that's what it says.

Any hydraulic oil with the J20 specification.

My H1502, which is the 2WD version uses generic tractor hydraulic fluid in the hydro. The spec sheet on generic reads the same as the spec sheet I had in the transmission manual that called for Shell Donax-TD.
