Hello all, awhile back I got my hand on a h1502 and i was told the the front pto drive belt for the belly deck needed to be replaced. I have tried taking it apart to get the old belts off, but to no avail. Any advice on how to remove the front pto so i can access the belts?

Thanks!

From undethe tractor look up at the engine and you will see a shaft running from it to the PTO. There is a spring loaded collar on it. Slide the collar toward the engine and there will be a pin that you can push out. This separates the PTO and the engine. Then remove the engage cable and remove the 4 bolts in the front. This will drop the whole unit down. You may have to fiddle a little to get the top gear of the shaft to do it. Flip it over and you will see 2 bolts on the back. Remove them and the cover comes off and the belts are exposed.

So you know the top gear and the idler pulley are greasable. They must be disassembled to do it. There is a snap ring in front holding it on the shaft and another snap ring on the back holding the bearings ion place.

Glad I could help. They seem to be a figure-it-out-the -best-you-can tractor. There must be people out there who know some of this stuff, but you never seem to be able to find them when you need them.
The bearings I said could be greased will need to be tapped out and back in. Same idea as front wheel bearings on a car.
Some more info that may be helpful. Massey Ferguson sold this same tractor as a MF1120. You should be able to get some literature from AGCO for it, probably also some parts. I got some basic service and owner manuals and a parts manual. It has exploded diagrams for the tractor and part numbers, unfortunately the front PTO is an attachment and its not in there. You should also be able to source some parts at a Kubota dealer, they are similar tractors.I have bought U-joints from them for the mower.
