06 cub gt2554 started blowing fuse everytime i went to start it checked wiring for short unplugged connections one at a time till i got to the regulator rectifier unplugged and it will start and runwill even cut grass but soon as i plug it back in it blows 25 amp fuse the mechanic at cub dealer put it on another tractor in the back(i did not see him do it but i heard a tractor run he said it wasn`t the reg/rec did some test on stator engine running i get 20 vac volts should be around 28 or more ? any ideas i think the stator its shorted

20 volts coming off the charging line is a tad much.. Do you have a 20v battery in your ride? Sounds like your regulator took a nose-dive and isn't bleeding off that extra voltage like it should.. As to why it will run after unplugging is because you are running off the battery.. The fuse is doing it's jub and blowing before you cook your battery. I'd shop for one of those first..
