I bought an 1975,I think Ford LGT 125 and the engine is black. I notice that in most pictures the engine is blue. Did they come with both colors or has someone changed the engine?
the only ones i remember seeing were blue but im not real familiar with fords so i cant say for sure its possible that they came black on some or a previous owner painted it or replaced it maybe some else might have a better idea . might also be helpful to look up the engine numbers for an idea of weather or not its original
Well I am not sure of the year 100%. I know the engine is a 75 but the tractor has no serial on it but just the first few numbers. Did the tractors come with both colors from original does anyone know?
We had one when I was a kid.I believe it was a 1974 thats the year it was bought? The engine was blue and so was the plate the engine bolted up to.What color is the mounting plate on yours? They might have changed to a black engine a year later but I am almost certain they did not and it should be blue. The Kohler sat on a plate that was welded to the tubular frame on this model. If they would have changes color scemes I would think they would have painted that plate black also?
For the open side tractors, the engines are blue from the factory. If it's black, chances are it was changed out.The only way to know is the engine serial no., which tells the year.
