OK, I need a new belt on my early 8N with loader. I unbolted the hydraulic pump and slid it forward. The pump shaft slid out of the crank pulley revealing 4 pins that fit into holes in the crank pulley. There is only about an eighth of an inch clearance between the pins and the crank pulley. That's not enough room to slide the belt through. What am I missing?

OK, I got it off. It was left hand threads on the hub and it was really stuck hard and the threads were buggered up.

The hydraulic pump shaft threads are 5/8" X 18 left hand. Figure the odds, but a buddy of mine had a tap so he cleaned up the threads for me.

The fan belt number for a Ford 8N front mount distributor is Gates TR20451. Maybe someone who is important enough can post that number to the Ford N ***'s.
