Anyone who owns a pet, will be affected by this tragedy. It involves a Siberian Husky, a German Shepherd, an off-duty Federal law enforcement officer, and a family. Took place at a dog park near Baltimore, MD. This has gained International attention and public outcry. Why? No charges were going to be filed against the officer, that shot and killed the Siberian Husky.

Finally, a link to the Bear-Bear petition, seeking an investigation into the matter, by authorities, who initially indicated there would be no charges filed.

That is sad, its the loss of a family member. We all know why there were no charges filed when it first happen, and we know why the case was re-opened, after the public got the story.

Oddly enough, you cannot shoot someone breaking into your house in MD, unless you have no way to flee. But you can shoot a dog in a public dog park. Interesting.

Seems to be unreasonable use of force.

What if the dog lunged and knocked the gun/his arm/him while he was firing, hitting someone else, his wife perhaps, Bear Bear's owner, etc? I imagine he'd feel pretty bad about that and it'd be a completely different story.
