I started a thread in the Massey section of the site and had posted the details around how I stumbled onto these, I updated yesterday with pics and it looks like I didn't get any traffic. I figured this would better then posting in all of the seperate brand areas of the site. I hope you guys enjoy the pics!

I had been given some notice that I might be able to haul three tractors off of a job for free. It finally came through and I loaded the trailer up and brought all three tractors home today. I snapped a bunch of pictures, including model and serial numbers so you guys can see.

We had to use my sisters small Nissan and a large chain to tow the Farmall out of the carriage house since I couldn't get the truck in the yard. The large trailer including my big truck wouldn't fit in the drive way(long and steep) so we had to tow it across a busy Arlington/DC street to the trailer using her car. Let's just say I'll leave that part our when I thank my sister for letting me use her car today :ROF

The Massey was dug in pretty good all the way passed the mower deck. I hooked a battery to it, put some fresh gas in it, checked the oil and suprisingly it turned over for a bit! Carbs gummed up. The Cub didn't have a gas cap, so I'm sure there's water in the lines. I'm going to be patient and spend a day changing oil, fuel filters, oil filters etc... What was really interesting and I hadn't spotted it before was the fact that the Cub had an older leaf vac attachment on it's mower deck. Like the Massey, the Cub was dug into the mud pretty good which made it a pain to move out. Luckily all three tractors' tires pumped up long enough to get them on the trailer.

I cleared some brush out in order to get to the Cub and noticed that the leaf vac trailer and hose was all intact and was sitting only a few feet away! The brush was over 4 feet in this area. So this one took some time to free it up. There's a mounting bracket for the leaf vac motor on the back. I'm pretty sure it's locked up, but we'll have to see. I actually bought an older leaf vac motor a few years ago, hopefully it'll mount up.

The three or four carriages houses on the property are loaded with old farm and garden machinery. I found a super old Troy-Bilt roto tiller that I was able to fit on the trailer. Engine turns. I've never actually seen some of the machines that are in these carriage houses. I know for a fact a lot of it is rare. I borrowed the trailer for a week, so I'll snap more pics of what I haul out. The other buldings are much bigger and I haven't been in them.

I was told all of it is farm and garden machines and supplies. Apparently the property was huge back in the 50's. Wouldn't it be crazy if I found a few more tractors? Maybe a couple old large riders that were just sitting like the Farmall was. Man that would be insane!

Any info on these tractors that you guys might have on these would be VERY helpful. I hate to say it, but I'm limited when it comes to finding parts for these particular models. I'm primarily used to Sears and Toro. I'll start picking through them and I'll start trying to get them to run. Luckily my best friend is getting stationed in Hampton, he builds motorcycles, so I can definitley use the help!

Enjoy! :trink40:

You should have seen some of the looks we got driving through DC and Arlington! We played "tetris" to get them on.

My dad picked this older Bolens tractor up not too long ago from the same guy I bought my Wheelhorse off of. We've got a load of attachments for this tractor including a snow thrower, street sweeper and a plow blade. I wanted to start on this one sometime next year, but since I've got all these other tractors, I guess it can wait :ROF

Fantastic find, keep digging. You might come up with the "Holy Grail" of GT's, the very first JD 110:ROF .

Just what is it you do, you mentioned "haul....off a job"? I noticed a skid steer behind the Farmall, I suppose that was yours already?

I'm a college student and I work in construction. Mostly home renovations, carpentry and landscaping. We own the skid steer. Now that wouldn've been a find! :ROF We've got 5 acres and hands down, the New Holland is our choice for a work horse. We use a smaller Bob Cat for jobs out in Washington(narrow alley ways), but the New Holland is definitley our work horse: great machine for doing pretty much anything. We load a lot of mulch, dirt and gravel with it and I've used quite a bit for grading when I was doing asphault for a little while.

We're still working on the job where I picked these tractors up. I think it's going to be interesting to see what exactly they've got in these carriage houses. A lot of what I've seen already was just machines that were left over from when the property used to be much, much bigger.

I'm going to see if I can pick the sickle bar, plow and the mower that goes with the Farmall. The mowing deck is huge. I could cut the grass in half the time :trink40:

Nice finds! The IH CUb Cadet model 782 was built between July 1980 and June 1981. I don't know Cub Cadets well enough to know if that 17 HP Kohler had the same internal lube problem that hurt the Deere 317 or not. Got any more identification on that motor? Is it a KT17 series I? If yes, it's not worth putting too much effort into fixing the motor, the rest of the tractor is a good one

They are mine! I just forgot where I left them.

(can't blame a guy for trying)

I fell into a situation like that once. Different stuff though.

Old house had sold and new owners were going to tear it down and get rid of it all.

Antique dealer had already looked it over bought some stuff and declared it was all junk left.

Found a trunk full of never used or washed antique quilts with the pencil marks still on them. Got 6 of them including a double wedding ring one that sold for $350 for $20 each.
Lots of other stuff including a hoosier cabinet and a bunch of smaller brass lamps and other anique stuff...My favorites were the 1948 dodge 2 door with no rust besides a little sirface for $65 and a Studebaker Hawk for $200!

Get what you can, it may be a once in a lifetime situation.
