B8200 FWD repair

I've got a rather beat up old B8200 FWD that is in need of a pinion gear in the front diff. I have been told that those parts are discontinued and I haven't been able to locate any. (I've tried Messicks, H&S Industries and West Kentucky Tractor Parts.) The part is listed as an assembly including the pinion and ring gears (part no. 67810-99122) but all I really need is the pinion which is worn smooth. The teeth on the ring are actually quite good looking along with the rest of the diff gears.

Anyone have a favorite parts yard that might have some used parts? Is there any chance of my old baby having 4WD again?

Thanks,
Andy

Welcome aboard Andy. These folks carry used Kubota parts: http://www.ssbtractor.com/kubota-tractor-parts.html
Heres a listing of AG / salvage yards that may be of help.

Hopefully you'll find the part and at worst the whole axle.
Good luck

Thanks Dave, I'll keep on looking. Worst case scenario is I have a 2WD tractor that I spent very little money on.

While conducting my search, do you know if there is any possiblity of a different model using the same parts? Is there an easy way to cross reference that? Or how about putting on a different front end from an easier to find tractor? I suppose I might have to rethink tire sizes as well if the ratios are changed.

What do you think?

Andy, about all I'd know to do would be to compare IPL's of difering models to see if theres a match on part numbers. Our manuals site has quite a few parts manuals covering many models and is available for free download. Another resouce is: www.kubotabooks.com.
One additonal great source for Kubota parts & info is: www.tractorsmart.com

Good luck
Dave
