I have read the Farmers Almanac and see snow is a ways off or so I think. Are any of you ready for snow? I was still mowing grass on the weekend and have a lot of projects before I am ready. You ready, send pictures, we love pictures. Maybe that will motivate me. Just got the last load of hay yesterday.

Not at all. The grass is still green here. Still tomatoes and water melons on the vine.

But I am thinking about snow removal. Not that we get much. Pondering a snow blower for the CC 682 and making a subframe to put a blade on something.

I am ready. Switched my work computer wallpaper to the attached to get me in the mood.

Looks like we might get an actual freeze this Saturday night, which hopefully will turn the grass off for the season. That's always a good time to break out the winter equipment and start prepping.

Been thinking about it some. I usually convert my machine from mow to snow around the end of October, but I'm going to wait 2-3 weeks longer this year to have an opportunity to mulch down more leaves. We did have snow the second week of November last year, so waiting that long is a slight risk.

Still trying to get a concrete contractor here to pour me a new driveway before Winter sets in. Gonna pave it all the way out to the street. Sure looking forward to using the 47 blower on it and NOT worrying about sucking up a bunch of rocks! I already dumped my turf tires for HDAPS in anticipation that I would not be using chains on the new concrete. We'll see how that works out for me!

Forecasts for northern Ohio along Lake Erie for snow chances this weekend. Down to the high 20's for central Ohio.

Blade not on the gx335 yet. Probably won't happen until about Thanksgiving.

Snow? I just got ready for leaves yesterday. Pushed last years leaf pile back about three feet, removed the mulch baffle from the mower and took the first trip around with the lawn vac. The leaves are just beginning to fall here, but I filled the vacuum box with leaves and grass. No snow...please! :Stop:

I usually do my last mowing/leaf mulching on Thanksgiving or the weekend after. I then take off the deck and put on the front blade. We rarely get plowable snow before Christmas here is southern Indiana.

We were building a deck yesterday, windy and chilly out. I could swear for a while there, it was flurries. I am partly ready for snow, no blower or cab on any of the other tractors, yet.

I have the 3 point blade on a model G if snow happens to try a sneak attack. Some people will say, well that's a long ways yet before snow will fall. I remember them saying that back in 1991 on Halloween. That night, and into morning. People and highway departments were scrambling to get the snowplow on. I remember hearing, some farmers ended up finding the snowblower in another shed where they store it. Wrapped a chain around it and drug it over to the other shed to mount it on their tractor.

I remember it snowed so much that, people at home with the typical walkbehind snowblower was pretty much pointless. I ended up using a frontend loader to dig out. Some drifts were just to big for even a 3 point snowblower behind a 5020.

I'm with you on Thanksgiving or there about. I did put a new squeegee on my blade a few days ago so I wouldn't be rushed at the last minute trying to put it on in the cold. We usually don't get done with leaves till close to the end of November then all the lawn furniture goes inside and the tractor with blade and loader comes up to the front garage.

well.. I always keep one machine geared up for snow.. it never gets the blower taken off.. then too the walk behind is a second back up... I do have one I still have to put the snow horseshoes on & the blade.. then weight get's added.. but this will happen when all the leaf mulchin is done.. right now our leaves r all green..

now then too.. I've been workin on yet another back up machine.. a MF 14 that I changed the engine to a 2 cyl Perky & will add a home made FEL to this.. in my dreams I plan on addin a cab to this one too..
