There is a 316 parts tractor for sale close to me for $200.00. It has an 18 HP Onan which I found some 316's came with. I am thinking about buying it just because it is cheap. The owner has the tractor in pieces because he said the transmission is bad, all the parts are there in boxes. Does anyone know if the engines and drivetrain are the same in a 316 and a 318? Is there anything else that is different?

Pretty much the same, but the hydraulic pump *might* be smaller since the 316 was manual steering. It did have hydraulic lift though. So yeah, basically the same tractor.

The drive line is the same. A ''newer'' 316 is basicly a 318 with less options like no PS, 1 hydro lever with 1 set of front hydraulic couplings, 1 brake pedal, ect.

If the engine is good $200 is a steal for that tractor.:fing32:
