Hey all,

I don’t know what I’m missing, but apparently I don’t have something right - my Deck Drive Belt blew out on my deck mid-now; I’m trying to replace it and I physically cannot get the parts to line back up correctly.

My unit is a 44” deck Broadmoor (15?) - I bought it used last summer. According to the stats I’ve looked up this should be an 83” belt. The local store didn’t have an 83”, the 82.25 was def too tight, so I’m trying the 83.75”.

I can get the belt to make the circuit but only when the tensioner is so far out of position (spring detached) that the belt is dragging on the bracket. For those familiar with the deck on this unit, the break is on the wrong side of the hump on the deck (images below).

Short of going to a longer belt than is claimed to be needed, I’m at a loss. The old belt is too shot to attempt to get any numbers off of it.

Note: yes, I know the belt is twisted a bit, I can work it out manually before putting the deck back in but it seems a moot point to worry about it right now since it won’t fit where it’s supposed to anyway.

Any suggestions or aid would be greatly appreciated.
