I know alot of people are always wanting to get a frame squeezer but has anyone ever made an adapter where a 400 blade would fit on a 318? it needs a 1" spacer on each side of the 318 frame.

just did one for a jd420 - cut the brace at the top and added a 1 inch piece to each side - fit perfectly.

Hello mrbacklash
No, the dirt dozer quick attach Frame would not fit inside the stationary front Tractor mounting plate. But I do have a 54" Hydraulic dirt dozer blade that came off a 400 series Tractor, that I had to Narrow up it's main frame as well as it's quick attach frame to fit my 318. It was 2" too wide for the quick attach frame to fit inside my stationary front mounting frame on my 318, so I torch cut off the end Plates and removed a 1" Portion of steel from each end of the mian frame Lower plow bracket, then full welded the end Plates back on after I Nipped a full 2" off of the quick attach frame section that have the quick attach Pin's in them. It took me most of the day to do this as John Deere weld's the end plates on the top and bottom, as well as across the complete bottom of the main Plow frame so it was a Lot of cutting and Grinding to get it narrowed down the required 2" and re-welded back to the end Plates as you end up Narrowing Two frames for this Modification to work here. Here is how it turned out , and after I restored the entire assembly and it fit's my 318 Perfectly now. I Paid just $100.00 for it so it was worth Putting some Effort into it. grnspot110 did a nice reply to my question about this along with great pics. check out my posts to find his pics. you doing the reverse making it smaller to fit the 318 but same principle. i see hammerdown gave you some good info so bet you will get it done.
I made one. Scrap metal and a welder you could do the same.

The rights tools make the job easier tho.
I am wanting to be able to swap it back and forth till I can find a 318 blade at a decent price

I changed the cradle on my model 56 blade to one from a 54 blade the blades are the same minus the cradle where it mounts to the tractor. I actually found someone who needed my cradle and I needed theirs so we just traded.
Finally had a chance to get some pictures of the adapter I made that let's the 56 blade from my 400 onto my 318. The tube is 1"x2"x3/16" the top has 5/8 holes on the outside then 3/8" on the tractor side. The bottom has a 5/8 rod for the tractor side and a 5/8" hole for the blade to mount in. Automotive tire Tire Vehicle Auto part Car

Soil Auto part Plant

To mount the blade each piece is put on the blade then the blade is hung from the tractor and then adapter is bolted to the top with 3/8" bolts to the frame then the blade is rotated up and hooked into the adapters. Works good and plenty of clearance turning the tires also.
