IMHO I don't think that you could go wrong with that..... but I could be wrong.... It looks like It operates simple with a hydralic pto pump.... for $499 it looks like a steel to me cause the usual ones you see that power themselves are at least $ 1400

Hi

The price certainly is good on that. I believe that unit does not have a hydraulic pump and uses the flow from the tractor hydraulic system. You would need power behond outlets to use it and the speed would depend on the flow available from your tractor.

Never saw one set up like that, but it looks like a great idea. You have the best of both worlds, tractor to push the logs around to cut and the splitter with you all the time. Only thing is, without it's own power, it can't be used without the tractor.

I have a similar splitter and I love it. Usually use it in the up rite, easy to back up to the monsters! It will split anything I have ever found.

The manual says max. 11 gpm and only use horizonial.
