For years and years we put up with nats in the yard. The hills in question, with the exception of a few recent ones, are decades old. We never ever really tried to do anything about the ants other than pouring gas oneone or two hills and lighting it on fire. This was always ineffective.

Anyway, last year, to seemingly no effect, I used the Raid ant-hill killer, the one with the straw that you poke right into the hill. All summer, the ants peristed, and actually seemed to thrive on the stuff.

This year, the very same ant hills seem to be dead. Grass is starting to fill in over what used to be mounds of sandy soil, and when I scuff the soil, no ants!

I suspect they've actually moved, but I haven't found any new mounds yet.

Well, it seems they (Raid) expects it to work in the same season it is used. I dunno. But like I said, parhaps they'moved, and I simply haven't found them yet.
