Another Radio in cab Thread

I've added a radio I had in the garage for a few years, to my x720 with a curtis cab. I Bought the antenna at Napa, and got the speakers off the web. It comes in really well, now I can listen to some music when I'm out getting some seat time. I made the mount that you see as well. I know there's been other threads about radio's in cabs and most people use mp3 and a set of earbuds, I didn't want that. I figured I would try my luck and I'm very pleased how it came out and sounds.

Looks great, good work on the installation as well, should be really nice to have with the snow removal chores :rauch10:.

:thanku: for the pics !.
looks great, nice install, but those 700's sure must be quiet!

I would love speakers over using ear buds but with the 345 you could never hear them with the fidelity I can get from ear buds under my hearing protection headset.

but I would much rather have speakers if my tractor wasn't so loud!

even with amplified speakers I would opt for the versility of the MP3 player in my smartphone though, it is MP3, FM Radio, Sirius Radio, Slacker, Pandora... but it sure would be nice to pipe the sound to the speakers...

I use Sonos in the garage and not getting that in the cab anytme soon... :)

Nice job on the install. :trink39::trink39:
That looks sweet but I already wear hearing aids at 47 so I'm trying to retain what I have left just got a set (for Christmas)of hearing protection headset with radio and plug for mp3 built in tried them out this afternoon worked great in the tractor and doing things around the yard, wife wasn't so pleased when she had to walk out to tap me on the shoulder because I couldn't hear her yelling from the back deck. Like I said work great:thThumbsU
Nice installation. I agree with the hearing protection. These things are loud. Ear muffs are a great idea.

Looks great! Nice installation work.

If the speakers work well for you and you like the setup then it is well worth the effort.

:thanku:for sharing the pics!
Very nice and enjoy it. slkpk
Ron, looks good. Is your cab a hard side with soft doors or a soft side converted?
Its a soft cab converted, I have pictures, just haven't had time to post them yet.
I also used to wear the earbuds under my hearing protectors but the pressure would hurt eventually. Then I found these that combine the two:

They are awesome and I highly recommend them.
