I searched and couldn't find a thread about it, and some of you out there probably already know this, but if you go to Tractor Supply, for $13.99 they carry a Kohler air filter that is a perfect match for the Onan air filter. Part # 45 883 02 - S1. I use this filter on my SS-16 and SS-18. Here's a pic of it:

a NAPA 229 filter should be a direct replacement, but doesn't have the prefilter. Cost about 10.99. The TSC one looks like a good deal with the prefilter! Good catch

Yeah been messing around with the cp. That was my '69 Suburban 12 I sold a couple months back. Guy I sold it to said he had heard of MTF and been on the site, figured he'd chime in or post pics. Kinda wonder what he's doing with it (restoring maybe?).

Yeah I just thought that if someone was as impatient as me, they could just run to TSC instead of ordering it!

Actually that is the same filter as the onan one, its just got Kohlers name on it...When I was buying some stuff from a bulk sale place, if you ordered a kohler filter or the onan filter they were the same, then I noticed the kohler one at tsc and bought one and compared them...they are the exact same just kohler had their name put on it, and the one from our onan dealer was the same, just had onan on it...So im convinced that they all get them from the same place, just have their name put on it to charge you the $$$$ they want...

Whats wrong with my plaid??? LOL we are very limited on what furniture we can put in our little rent house. It's all of 538 Sq feet!!! 10 months to go till my job moves me so we're holding out till then to buy a house. Can't wait.

PS if you look at my avatar, you can see the house. It's the white part thats behind my red shed. That shed is only 10x12 for refrence. I had to build the silver shed on the right just to store stuff cause the house is so small. The house is roughly 25' x 25'. Rents cheap though:fing32:

Yeah its funny, the house is 4 blocks down on the same street from my parents old house I grew up in. We've been in it 6 years, through college and a couple jobs. For 5 and a half years we paid $200 a month. Now its $300 a month, but in the town I'm in, the next cheapest is $600/ month. Coulda bought a house years ago if I'd known I'd be here this long. But since I'm moving in less than a year, I can deal with it! Oh, and the house was built in 1921 for the rail road workers when they put the new rails in. No insulation, just a simple box house. And it does get very cold, even here in Texas!
