I dreamed this up for my 60th birthday breakfast.

I'm the 'breakfast chef' in the house, my wife is a hobbyist gourmet cook. It's proven by my difficulty in losing weight...

Usually I'm very conservative and health-conscious with breakfast. Not this day!

So back to it... this breakfast is something I'd been thinking about for a while.

Le'ts start with a hot-off-the-frying-pan piece of french toast, smear generously with room-temperature peanut butter, so it melts and get all gooey:

Add BACON!!

Add another piece of french toast on top, add sliced bananas...

Top with some raspberry jam and we're good to go!

Add maple syrup if you want it, but you really don't need it!

Calories, fat, cholesterol... If you have to ask, it's not your birthday!

:thanku:
For all the good wishes!

We went a little simpler with dinner - we had some nice rib-eyes that we'd rubbed with a dry rub that my wife "just made up" (meaning it was really good but don't go looking for any kind of recipe); and we gave them a coating of 'bacon oil*' to keep them moist during the barbecue. Some nice fresh green salad with some of our cherry tomatoes from the garden and homemade oven fries to go with that... oh yeah.

*Bacon oil is what you get when you slow-cook bacon - like 250-275 degrees in a pan. Takes a long time to cook it that way, but it gets done nice and evenly. It's super-rich like butter, but tasty!
