My father-in-laws 1948? AC C starts fine when cold and runs well until you stop. Then, it will turn over well but not start when hot. Starts fine again once it cools down. Not sure where to start - any suggestions?
My guess would be the ignition coil. I have the Same issue on my 1958 Ford 601 Workmaster, just ordered a coil, not in yet but the dealer told me it probably is the coil.

either the coil or magneto which ever it has or possibly vapor lock if fuel line has been modified and is running next to something hot. run it till it shuts off then check for spark.
