I got an Allis Chalmers big 10 for 30$! It's in good shape but has no grill. It's got a blade and deck. It has a 1978 Briggs on it but it looks like a 1965. Is that not the right engine for it? It does run and move and it's got 1 new tire on it. Not too bad for $30!!

If you could post a picture of the deck you have showing what you need, the decks were a little different in that area depending upon which model and size. I have a couple parts decks and might be able to match something up.

I may be wrong, but I thought that the two arms on the mower deck slip into the two pieces coming off the front axle and are held there with pins.
The deck then follows the front wheels as they move over high and low spots thereby minimizing scalping.

Sorry about the terrible pics. When i put the brackets up to the ones on the tractor i cant steer at all cause the deck is so close.

Here are some scans from the manual showing the pieces and the installation.

The 1st pic is the newer style. The ones you need are in the 2nd pic.

well i havent heard from him so i am in need of the holder. On the diagram its called the rocker arm. Does anyone have one??? I did get it running great since it did leak gas like crazy and i did replace the float since it was cracked open. Man this thing really runs though! And it really scoots for only 3 gears.
