I have an awful lot of Holly that grows around the trees. If I keep up with it it will get 2-3 feet tall with pencil size trunks but let it go a year and it gets pretty large. So I am tired of clipping with hand trimmers and chainsaw (back is tired of bending). I am getting a string trimmer set up with a saw blade. I have looked at the Stihl FS110. I have an Echo SRM 2100 but it is 10+ years old and I am happy leaving it a string trimmer, besides I don't think it has the power for a metal type blade for sawing holly trunks. Any other brands you might suggest?

Anyone have experience with a brushcutter/weedeater set up with a saw blade and if so, what saw blade you use, manufacturers like Stihls metal blade or their scratcher tooth or chisel tooth blades?

I got a FS 110 R, used it about 2 hours today. Never got much over 1/3 throttle. Quite allot of power. Used the saw blade 8" single loop harness. I am satisfied. Goes through the 1/2 to 1" holly like butter. Just 7 more acres to go.
