Still hoping to buy a small tractor in the near future. But it seems external hydraulic connections are almost unheard-of on these units regardless of brand.

Is it feasible to tap into the Yanmar hyd pump and plumb some control valves and hoses so I could operate hydraulic implements on the 3-pt hitch?

My main implements for this would be an 8-wheel V-rake and a log splitter.

Sure, seen it done several times.

Tapping into the high pressure side and suction side leaves you with two disconnects (remotes). You MUST use a jumper hose when the hydraulic implement is disconnected or removed. Otherwise the pump will dead head pressure and crack the pump body.
