Anyone know the trick for removing the engine pulley? I just tore into an engine change and have gotten stuck there. I doused it with PBBlaster. I've got a puller but I'm not getting a good bite. Do you beat on it in any particular way?
Make sure any set screws in the groove or flange are removed, soak liberally with penetrant, apply some heat to the pulley itself, get a good grip with the puller...apply more heat, pull some, hit the center of the puller with a mallet, pull some more.
If its a cast pulley, it may break, if its a stamped pulley, it may bend...
Are you using a threaded bolt puller, or a 2/3 jaw puller?
