hi everyone, have a quick question . im putting the motor back in and while i lined up the u joint on the motor and locked it down i rotated the joint to check it , i notice the drivshaft end of the yoke with the rollpin in it has play in it . my question is should the driveshaft be a tight fit into the yoke? i cannot understand why that would of worn out.the ujoint is fine. thanks:duh:

It should be a slip fit, without noticeable play.
These engines generate alot of harmonics and the crankshaft doesnt rotate in a smooth, constant manner like an electric motor does as the piston and connecting rod actually drive the crank.
If you were able to watch a crankshaft turn in super slow motion, you will notice the crank turn slow and fast at certain angles in the revolution.
These harmonics are hard on everything.

Hope this helps
