Have a 8199-KT project. The motor runs fine as does everything else but the tranny. Before I got the motor running the high/low lever was stuck and the PTO would not disengage. The case is the same after getting the motor running but it has a grinding noise with the PTO in the OFF position. I have a spare 800 series trans I thought I could rob parts from, But after draining the pint of water and quart of oil, from the KT Gunna need a different plan. After comparing the 800 to the 8000 the only difference I see is that the clutch drive shafts are 1" longer on the 8000 series. Is there any reason you cannot cut the shafts on the 800 series 1" shorter to use with the late style clutch?

Sorry I had that bassackward. Yes the 800 shafts are 1" longer than the 8000. I Also found would have to use the 8000 axle bearing retainer for the later clutch spring. But it don't matter now. Pulled the cover and found the gears in good shape, but a lot rust on the PTO shaft. But there is no major damage. The pivot lever in the case was frozen and the high/low shift fork is rusty. The rear PTO bearing is toast. But the tranny should be repairable. Going to pull the motor and the PTO shaft next. Tried to post some photos but no go. Will try to post some soon.

Well I got the trans apart. and the PTO assy. out. It looks like the only parts needed so far is the rear PTO bearing 17967 and the case/clutch bearing 17915. any one know the Timken/SKF/National or other brand part numbers for the bearings and seals used in this transmission?
