My 7265 is electrically dead to the world.
I changed the fuel filter and added some boost for the winter months. New battery and negative cable as well. I got her started up and she died in a minute as I forgot to turn the fuel back on. Turned the fuel on and cranked a bit but wouldn't start again.

I got desperate and gave it a shot of ether. When cranking it started a bit, kicked and stopped. Now it's electrically dead, no lights, signals, nothing with the key on. I can jumper the pos of the battery to the solenoid and get a click. The red and yellow big fuses are still good. All the small fuses on the firewall are good.

I can turn the engine a few degrees via the alternator/fan belt so it's not locked up.
Is there a fusible link somewhere? Other ideas?

Thanks in advance MTF family.

Nevermind. I'm an idiot.
I found MY exact same question via google ON THIS FORUM, from January 17, 2009. The last time I changed the battery. I did the exact same stupid thing. At least I'm consistent.

The pos cable had just that last little twist available before it was completely tight on the post. That made it crank like crazy and all electrics are fine.

However, since I had run it out of fuel when I changed the filter I had to go to the manual and find the procedure to release the air from the fuel lines before it would finally start.

To the Maker's Mark.
