My 650 has a little issue I would like to fix before I sell it.

At start up, the rear 3 point lifts up and down fine, but as you use it for a while, the lift lever doesn't have any effect on the lift...because it will drag the ground, and you can move the lever up and down, and nothing happens. Last time I used it, I had to drop, and abandon my box blade at a neighbors lake side because it was literately dragging me down.

Its got fresh new hydraulic fluid in it, and the filter is clean and clear.

I am thinking about starting to remove some of the hydraulic parts on the rear end, starting with what the lever controls/activates when you move it.

Something ain't right. anybody have any ideas or insight?

what would really cause that?

Know of a pressure port I can test and see what pressure I have when this happens?

Thanks for the input.

well, I removed and tore down the rockshaft control valve today. I ordered the replacement parts (seals) from Deere as well. It needed new seals in it anyway, as it was leaking in a few spots. Tracking down a pump, and a FYI old P/N and new P/N are both NLA from Deere. Have to go aftermarket. I found a couple of leads. One company from Turkey builds a lot of different pumps.

Very nice. Is that a broken seal in the upper right hand corner of the pic?

See, I thought that was broken too, as when I was taking apart the valve spool, the keeper came out in the two pieces you see there, but looking at the pieces, they are made that way.

I put the spool in the vice and put some slight pressure on it to compress the internal spring and then just reached in with a small pick and popped these keepers out of their groove.

Everything looks really good, nothing really scratched, broken, or damaged. But I'll put it all back together with new seals inside, and slap some fresh new green paint on it. I'm aiming more towards the pump myself too. :(

Good to know. I'll try to remember that if I ever have to into mine.

I got all my seals, packings and gaskets to rebuild my valve today from Deere. I got her rebuilt, and added some primer and paint on it, and have it hanging in the garage where I will install it Tuesday. I'll snap some pictures, it turned out good, but I too have a feeling I will be replacing the pump.

Oh don't say that! Those blasted little pumps are close to $1000 if I remember right.

Show off some pics of fresh paint when you get a chance.
