The 3rd wheel is tight on mine but yes it still rolls. Did you reverse the deck spindles? That moves it a little farther back. Also check the spindles to make sure they aren't bent, that can affect positioning.
It has nothing to do with mounting the spindles to it. When I tighten the mount to the roller bar it compresses the 3rd roller because
as you can see here the axle shaft doesn't make it all the way to end of the bracket. So when you put the bolt in it pushes on the third roller.

The spacer laying in the top corner of your picture screws into the end of the shaft to make it longer. I believe I had to use 1 spacer for 60" deck. The other option was to take that 3rd roller link out, it should be right in front of your tires so may not need that one anyway.

Yea, the first spacer is already installed. I think tomorrow after work I'm going to try and go without the 3rd roller.

I see that that the striper kit BM23648 worked on a JD x739 for Spartan. I have a 2015 JD x734 with a 60" HC deck. Will this striper kit work on my tractor or will the all wheel steer cause the back wheels to hit the striper? Will I be battling the install like many others I have read or would it be straight forward with my deck?

I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for the x734. Mine was straight forward no issues. No clearance issues. I believe the tires are skinnier on x734 as well.

Hate to ask another version of this question but is there any reason this would not work on a 2019 54” HC deck?

The newer 54HC have a striping kit that is broom based. It is two overlapping brooms that are adjustable in height. They only cover the middle27". It makes a very nice 54" striping effect on your lawn. They are not anywhere near as durable as the other style kits. They do work just as good when new.

Thanks. I had the brush kit on my previous MY2014 X739 and it was fine but there is something about the roller kit that is appealing in that the roller are wider and may not wear out as quickly as a brush. My questions is really geared toward the roller kit because several people have installed them on units that are in the 2014 to 2017 MY machines. I don’t know if the MY2019 HC decks are such that they won’t fit as I don’t believe there have been any changes to the roller wheel assemblies that others have mounted these kits to, other than moving from metal drive over brackets over the spindles to the newer plastic brackets on the newer units.

The roller striping kits are really made originally for the 7 iron decks. The hc decks are the same stamp and brackets. So if your 54” hc deck has the same brackets for the rear guide wheels as the 54” 7 iron deck. Then the 54” striping kit should work with it.

Just installed this kit yesterday on my 2016 X750 with a 60HC deck. Went perfectly. Kit came with brackets and hardware for various decks over various years. I have three brackets and a handful of used hardware, and one roller left over. Dealer parts dept did say it was discontinued, but some kits were still in the system.

I asked my local dealer and they didn’t say anything about it being discontinued. Had 28 in stock at DEERE. But curious is that confirmed they are no longer making them ?

An earlier post (2016) says the same.

A note. Locktight the bolts going into the rod. Because of the turning direction one of mine came loose and tried to unscrew itself.
