I was looking at the 49 Thrower i got a few months back while I was getting it ready for snow and noticed there is not a place to keep extra shear bolts where I have seen it on all the other 37 and 49 throwers, So does mine have a place for shear bolts, and where are they? It is serial E0601 004675 M. Thanks -Tom:thanku:

Well I just picked up my Model 49 2 days ago and had no idea what those random bolts were for until you mentioned storage for shear pins... Took a picture for you, it is on the right side of the blower....

On those older SBs it would be a good idea to remove the bolts and see if everything is free with them removed. If the auger or impeller are rusted to the shafts, the shear pins won't work. At least shoot some penetrant in those areas to keep them free.
