I'm trying to get my Powerflo 48 operational but am having some trouble finding the right belt. I'm trying to fit the M138974 (79.5" long) but it seems way too big. With the belt routed correctly and the tensioner sheave fully tensioned I still have the slack shown below.

It seems I may also be missing a spring that tensions the idler sheave. Does anyone know if there should be a tensioner spring clipped to the piece shown in pic below?

TIA for any help or guidance you can offer. I'm struggling w. this one.

Definitely missing a spring.....pulling the pulley away from the spring is what should give you the "slack" that you need to get the belt on.....if you pull on it using your hand, you should see the belt getting taught..that is what the spring should be doing

I don't have that model blower on hand so I had to find a pic online. Your missing the lower pulley tension spring - JD part number GX25189 - and the belt should be 76 inch JD part number H86061. I hope this helps.
