On my 47" snowblower, mounted to an X590, the clamp that guides the chute cable is scraping off the outer sheath of the cable. I'm thinking about coming up with a different guide that will be more friendly to the cable. My previous snowblower on an LX176 had a nice cable guide made of round metal rod forming a loop. Has anyone here come up with a solution to this?

Those rod-style cable guides are readily available from JD. You can purchase them through JD Parts. Just bolt it where you need it. I've installed an extra one on my blower to help support the remote spout control cable.

That's an idea. The one on my old 42" blower was very long. I'll search and see if they offer a short one for a different blower.

I use an eyebolt on my blower like Father Dearest, been doing that for the last 5 years and no more wear on the cable.
