455 or x495

Just curious as to your preference between a 455 and a x495. Assuming same hours and condition, what would sway your decision one way or the other. (i.e. ergonomics, ease of maintenance, horsepower, cheap implements, etc).

Opinions one way or the other?

Personally I like the 455 because it's older and you can use the same implements from the 425/45s. I like the look of the 455s better than the x495. The 455s also seem more common than the x495s. And parts may be slightly cheaper, but I haven't owned one yet.
A 455 will be cheaper than an X495, attachments will also be cheaper, and is just about as capable. The 22 Yanmar powers the tractor plenty enough, and has the diff lock and foot pedal hydro that the X495 does, just not all the creature comforts. If you want the extra comforts and power, go for the X495.

Same money/hours/condition? I'd go with the x495; there's not really any huge differences other than looks, but the X has a few little things like better hydro pedals. If you plan on keeping it a while, product support will be around longer for the X.
Love my 455, hasn't let me down.

x495. Newer, slightly bigger, and I think it looks better. If you plan on adding a loader to one of these tractors, the 45 FEL for the x495 is a little stronger (due to larger diameter lift cylinders) than the 40 loader on for the 455, as I'm told.

The 455 is a great beastly tractor. I just don't see any reason why you should get one over the x495 (that is, if the price is the same/similar):fing32: :hide:.

The X495 is a little bigger than the 455 if that matters. The X495 is a more ergo and I like the styling better, however used attachments are cheaper & easier to find for the 455. Both very capable machines!
Pre '99 455's are non-RIO, which makes for a more simple harness. 60" deck is heavier duty than later 62" on X.

The X has a stronger rear diff, better pedals, and faster mowing decks, and better tranny cooler.
