I would think that having 2x5 gallon jugs, and a full tank should get you through a long stretch of operation. Assuming you have a 5 gallon tank on board, I would guess you could run 25-30 hours or so on 15 gallons of fuel.
As a counterpoint, I've never found it necessary to use additives in our diesel fuel. I do not worry about gelling, because I purchase on-road fuel from high-volume stations. They treat the fuel already so that it will be fine in any temp range expected for this region.
I do use stabilizers in our gasoline jugs due to the ethanol. I don't know if it makes any difference, but it makes me feel better.
