I agree that I'd like to get the largest one that will fit without clearance issues. The tread is so similar between the two that it really comes down to size for me and which one clears the AWS system and deck the best.

I'd like to go with the 26x12x12, I just want to make sure that they'll clear properly with the JD spacers. There was another member that made 3/8" thick spacers for his AWS 4X5 and it seems to work with the 26x12x12 HD Field Trax. I was going to us the JD spacers which are 1" thick, and have questions on the clearance of the 26x12x12's with the 54" rear deck side rollers.

The two issues that you will run into are that without a spacer the wheels will rub on the steering arms. Second is with the 54" deck, the left rear deck wheel will interfere with the left rear tire when the deck is over half way up and you are turning to the right.

Now using the 1" spacers that will bring the wheels out a little further and create more interference with the left read deck wheel. You should be fine on the right hand side. The easy way to deal with the left rear deck wheel is to remove the bolt and move it to the other side of the wheel bracket.

So the 1" spacers will be fine with the 26x12x12 HD Field Trax tires and the left rear deck wheel if the wheel is swapped to the other side of the bracket? I read through your other threads and saw that the 3/8" spacer worked fine, I just wasn't sure with the 1" spacers.

I am also considering the ply of the tire, not so much from the weight prospective but puncture resistance. If the 26" HD Field Trax came in 4 ply it would be as easy choice.

Good to hear about the clearance . . . just have to decide on which to get.

I'm really surprised that JD offers a 2 ply rear HDAP tire as a stock option on the newer models (x5, x7 and 102X). I am leery about the weight they can hold and their resilience to puncturing. I run a 40 FEL with weight on the back as well as 3pt attachments. The weight increase on the rear is significant with the 3PT attachments due to length they hang out such that the fulcrum point is the rear axle/tires.

Pulled the trigger and decided to go with the 25x10.5-12 All Trail's (4ply) and 18x8.5-8 V61's (6ply).

I decided to go with the 4ply all trails as I was worried about the 2 ply hd field trax's. Also, the slightly narrower all trails at 10.5 vs. 12" might be better matched to the AWS on the 455. I already have a set of 4ply v61's on the 425 which I'll swap over to the 455, and place the new 6 ply ones on the 425 as it has the FEL on it full time.

I'll post pictures once I get them on (of course).

I'd be surprised if you were able to find the spacer kit - BM22725, but you can get the spacers themselves - M117609 and then get the cap screws from your local dealer. I know that there is a Canadian dealer that has the spacers (I just had them send down for me). Warning - they are not cheap!

Also a question - are you using the 40 loader on the 455 AWS? I thought it wouldn't fit??? I looked at your pics and it looks like the loader is on the 425. I'm hoping your running on your 455 AWS because if I can do that I'll be getting one as soon as possible.

Hey Tom. My local dealer has ordered the BM22725 kit for me. The spacers and bolts individually was a tad expensive, it was slightly cheaper as a kit. $145 plus tax.

I am not using the 40 loader on my 455 AWS. The 425 is going to be used for the FEL and rear 3pt attachments at the moment. There are other members that are running a 40 FEL on their AWS 4X5's. JD warns not to do this as there could be stability issues, but it can be done from what I've read. I'm not sure of the logistics behind doing this, as the main concern (beyond stability) is the rear wheels and the 40 FEL frame brackets. My 425 with the rear AG's tires rub the brackets very slightly on the inside corner, not too badly though . . . only slightly. I will have to shave a small corner of the inside tread bar off to have it not rub. It's rubbed the paint and that's about it.
