There was a thread not too long ago where someone posted the part number for the Kawasaki ignitor that is the same as the John Deere 425 part and a lot cheaper.

I have searched and can't find it; does anyone know the part number?

Katt bought those from eBay for his.but I think it was for his lx188 but they may be the same.

21119-2157 is for the FD501V ( LX188 ) but I can't see Kaw using a different ignitor for everything. just verify the ignitor is the same for the LX188 and 425 using a where used search.

Now there is an idea of using a Subaru igniter if you can figure out the pin out and save a junkyard connector for a Subaru ( 1995-1998-9 2.5 have them ) , it should work.. aftermarkets can be had for $30 but they never really go bad.

The part number for the igniter module for the Kawasaki FD620D 20 hp V-Twin petrol carbureted water cooled engine for the JD 425 is 131800-0131. This is the Kawasaki OEM number but I think John Deer also uses the same number.

That ignitor is no longer made by Denso. All the suppliers that use to carry them for $70-$90 are gone. John Deere has some at a high price, but if you need one you either have to pay it or find a used one.
