Here's the story.Everything is working fine on the 420 so I give it a bath, I start it up charge light stays lit, ok I'll take it to the garage to check it out, nope, move lever away from neutral switch engine dies. Start her back up and try the pto switch engine dies. Start checking for broken wires, bad connections voltage output to battery (14.5 dcv). The seat switch was by-passed when I got her a month ago. I'm LOST. Any ideas what could be wrong? Thank you in advance.

Although you say the seat switch is bypassed either there is a loose wire or the water got into that circuit because that would be the cause of your problem. The fender pan is easy to pull to check the wiring to the seat switch.

I had a similar problem with my 420 and it turned out to be a poor connection on the selenoid after a nut came loose. I would spray all connections with a wire dry and tighten. Good luck
