The real plus is that they were all premium machines, equipped with power steering and PTOs. All were Onan twin engines. Seems like many were sold with extensive packages (blowers, vacs, tillers, etc) and today will periodically show up as complete packages, priced rather economically.
The down side is parts, repairs, and attachments. The unique parts, including the hydraulic pump, are more limited in availability and more costly. The hydraulic motors on the implements do go bad and are ... costly.
The most common hydraulic attachments were unique to these machines ... that being vacs, snow blowers, and chipper/shredder. Same for the field mower. The standard tiller and log splitter can be used on a 4100 series. The uniqueness arises from the large hydraulic pump capacity installed to run more implements ... more flow rate and hence HP in the hydraulics.
