3813 vs 4514 wheels - has anyone compared them in terms of interchangeability?

one item i'd like to improve on the 3813 is 2nd gear cutting speed - 3rd gear is too fast in the thick grass (for me) and 2nd too slow. I noticed the 4514 rear wheels are 2" larger diameter (yeah i know i'd have to change the front as well if the deck won't adjust for the angle offset)

both rear axles are splined shafts, and honda probably used the same diameter splined end, but i don't to ship in two wheels w/tires to find out they changed

tks in advancce

Here is a pic of the 4013.

It appears as if the rear wheels on it are the same height as those on 4514 and 4518's. But the speed comparison is more than 12 percent comparing the 3813 and 4013 specs from tractordata.com. So even though the tires appear to be taller on the 4013 than the 3813 it looks as if the gear ratios are different in the 4013 transmission. Maybe the RPM is higher on the single cylinder 390 which would also increase ground speed on the 4013 compared to the 3813.

If you go to a taller tire - 4514 tires and wheels instead of the 3813 tires and wheels all you will gain is about 12 percent greater ground speed with the sweet spot nearly in the middle between 2nd and 3rd gear..

The speeds comparison:

3813

2nd gear 1.4 mph * 12 percent = 1.57
3rd gear 2.1

2nd gear 2.1
3rd gear 3.2

I am going to switch tires and wheels on my 3813 and 4213 this weekend. I will pull a wheel off of the 4514 and check if the splines are the same when I am doing the rotation.

Will let you know.

thanks - it won't take a great speed increase to get what i'm looking for - and remember, the 3813 is not a hydrostat so too much speed increase the cut quality will suffer same as if i'd put it into 3rd gear
