I've noticed on my 1987 332, that when the inside lever is in the Detent/Float position sometimes it will pop out. What part of the system keeps it in detent? the levers or the spool valve itself? Can it be rebuilt so its tight and stays put?
I would try cleaning it first, in the diagram the area for the detents are 9,10,11 (both sides) then if cleaning doesn't work then replacing with the kit #12 is the ticket. I would inspect piston and seals then too! Edit, diagram is from a 318!
