Would a worn out detent/float position have any connection to the front lift/lower cylinder bleeding down quickly as well as my problem with down pressure being applied when using the outer lever? I am starting to think so.Spool valve is normally the culprit, sometimes cleaning the pistons solves this.

Cleaning the detent hardware may help. If not you may need a detent kit (John Deere Detent Kit AM143325). I put a kit in mine a two years ago and it works better than when new.
The price went way up since I did mine at a cost of $111.00. Maybe tariffs??
