318 with hydro slips in forward and not reverse

Have a 318 that jumps in and outta gear in forward but not reverse. I did change the fluid and still have the same problem. When going uphill it's also fine and seems like if there's a load on it (like uphill) it don't slip. But on the level it's bad. Again,,,,reverse is fine.

Bad universal joints on the drive shaft? Sheared key? How much of a slip are you getting?
Did you check the linkage yet ;)
Alot of slip. Example would be in about 10 yards at half throttle it'll kick in and out about every 2 ft. Goin to check the linkage tonight. What should I look for on the linkage? But it works fine in reverse.
Look at the pins that connect the shift arm on the dash to the linkage and at the rear where the linkage attaches to the pump. You'll have to pull the lower cover off to see what I'm talking about and remove the deck.

You drain the fluid underneath the rear axle. Very simple and takes about 10 minutes. I also flush mine when I change it out.
