Hello again. I've spent some more time with my 318 the last few evenings and have some questions. First off, I wanted to put two photos up for Glenn27 to show the front mount thatcher hooked up (except hydraulics.)

Now for my questions regarding a broken tube and voltage. The third photo I uploaded I actually stole from another thread because I forgot to take the same photo soooo, credits to the original photographer. :thanku: That photo shows a tube coming off the axle and going somewhere. Where does it go? Mine goes from the rear pumkin and is broken at that first place you see it clipped to the frame.

Second, I measured voltage at the battery beforst start-up and got 12.59 volts, started it up and varied the throttle from low to high and got nothing more. From what I've read that sounds like a voltage regulator to me. I'll continue to TS with some other info gleaned from another thread.

Thanks all.

The hose in the rear is a "sight glass" per se to monitor the tranny fluid (Hyd Fluid) ....it should show in the glass ,when unit is at rest ....

Check all your electrical connections,I'm not sure what engine you have but if it's a n Onan the 3 spades on the V.R.tend to vibrate off and or corrode...clean up the spades with a metal brush,a little dielectric grease and a little more crimp on the wire ends and your back in business....be sure the batter ground is good along with the positive cable also ....you may also have a fuseable link or fuse that is blown....aren't small engines grand !

Good luck,Jim

Do as Jim suggests first, but if no change, more than likely the Voltage Regulator is toast. S/B about 13.4v at WOT...
