The fluid in my "85 318 goes halfway up the sight glass.I was wondering if that's where it's supposed to be?Also it's amber colored,is that the factory JD type fluid?

Halfway up the sight tube is correct, the amber color should be JD Hygard which is the correct HST fluid. Should be the low viscosity Hygard!

Thanks,just what i wanted to hear!The dipstick is missing,looks like it fell out of the cap.

There is no hydro dipstick.
Just a cap over the fill tube.
