Just starting to get to know my 318. Last time I cut the grass, all went well. Now I start it up, runs great. I engage the mower deck, governor brings her back up to speed. Off I go. As I increase my speed the engine can't keep up, the mower deck slows down. Same if I try going up a hill. Lose power like it will hardly make it up the hill unless I bring the throttle way back. Not sure but I think I smell gas a little more than usual. Float sticking? Maybe I'll tap it a bit.
Any ideas...thanks everyone!

sounds like you may be starving for fuel. If you pull the choke out slightly does the engine catch back up a bit?

Will it take the hill at full speed without the deck spinning?

Bad gas? Clogged fuel filter? Dirty air filter? Deck bearings good? Hydro fluid level good?

Ya gotta love it when it's that easy! Good luck with the 318.

OMG. That is some funny stuff right there. How come the one plug was disconnected?
