[Green Machine 317]

This is my 317 that I just got today. It has the series 2 engine...thank god..:drunkie:. It was running very well, however it now will not idle correctly without having more than half choke....maybe some crap in the carb..?? fuel filter ??...water in the gas ??.....time will tell.

The deck is a 50'', it will need spindle bearings throughout the deck. The lighting harness for the headlights was removed at one time also.

It came with a snow blower also, JDpart #M00338X and it does not fit this machine....anyone know what the blower will fit ?? Can it be made to fit ??


Not bad for $700.00 and delivered.

Nice 317! Could be dirty carb, fuel filter, or filter in the Tank. Also could be a air leak around the carb causing too much air to get in. More likely dirt in the fuel system tho.:fing32:

:Welcome1: I'd say its time to replace all fuel lines, intank screen and clean the carb. Not a bad score for $700. The 338 blower seems to fit the 108/111/116 machines if you look in the FAQ above at the compatibility charts http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=48290 :fing32:

The hook up isn't real clear. Your are right, it won't fit your 317. From what I can see, my first guess is 111 or 116, but I am not sure.

I put the snowblower up on craigslist chicago..thanks for the help guys !!

My 317 is a 1981....

so now to get started on getting this machine up and on its feet.

I have the carb issue corrected and she is running sweet...now to make her purty and get the odd and ends corrected...!!

I run the 338 blower on my 180 and see little in the way of mods (someone did fool around with the lift rod at some point but I'm not sure if that is anything), so I think you can also include the whole 160-185 series in your ad.

Thanks....this was after a 4 year restoration...here is my you tube channel with vids of this sled prior to the resto..I sold this sled and got $900 for it..payed $50 for it back in the day. However I have 3 more of these in the works and they are much better than this machine was when first purchased..
