My 317 has clear tubing running from the rear of the transmission to the top. But I do not see a separate " sight glass " should there be one ? Or is the clear tubing the sight glass ? And mine seems to be missing what I would call a clamp or bracket that would hold the clear tubing into the slot in the rear cover for viewing the fluid level. I also don't have the filter/vent that I have seen in parts diagrams is that needed ? Seems like previous owners were selective on what parts to leave off this machine :banghead3 . If there is supposed to be a bracket or plate what does it look like ? I'm slowly trying to get this tractor back to all the pieces it left the factory with !

The tube in the slot is the site glass.

Check that plastic hose for integrity. When I went to remove mine it fell apart in my hands. I replaced mine (easy job) and zip-tied the new hose in the sight window on the rear of the tractor.
