OK guys,
I think I screwed up in my haste to get my 316 up and running again.
I put JD Low-Vis in the transmission!:hide: I'm not sure, but I don't think that will work too well. Am I right? What is the consensus for the "right" fluid in the older Deeres.

Low Viscosity HyGard is what Deere now recommends for use in the older 316/318 GTs. So if it's HyGard, you should be fine. Automatic Transmission Fluid Type F is also fine.
Great dogs stash. My sister had one.

But what if (like mine),the trans has a thousand hours on it? Is the Low-Vis still the better choice?

I think so. Mine is pushing 1000 hours, and that's all I have ever used.

Switched mine over from ATF - F to Hygard at 854 hours (just after I bought it). Seems to be working good for me!
