Where is the correct belt setting, with the mower deck up ? On the front draft plate there are 4 settings. One at the bottom called Install. 1/4 the way up is Re-tension and at the top is Initial Belt Tension. I have mine pointer set half way up, the draft plate. I had an after market belt set close to the top setting and it snapped, after about four hours. I have a JD belt now.

Looks like the pointer needs to be a little less then half way up. With a JD belt.
