Keeping whatever oil you choose fairly clean and at proper level is more important than anything. Particularly important in a splash oiled engine.

At my old place, the neighbor would drag his push mower along his ditch for about 100 yards. Now I never measured it, but I swear that mower was at a 45 to 50 degree angle. If often skidded, and almost roll, but he'd just keep pulling it along. I can't imagine where the oil had run to under those conditions? How can the oil dipper reach oil laying up against the side wall of the crank case?

Anyway, keep it clean, full, and upright. You'll be fine.
