I am planning to buy a John Deere 3720.

Please explain the difference between the 300X or 300CX loader.

Thank you,
Regards,

JDF,

"Much greater"? isn't it like 200/300Lbs greater? (That isn't much). It does have faster clyclic times I beleive. I would never pass up a machine because it had a 300x instead of a 300cx, when I bought my 3320, they had a 300x in stock and I took it and have had no regrets.

Brett,

It's sort of like the 210 loader on the 2210 rated at lifting 600# when it is documented that it lifts twice that amount. Owners of the 300CX report much larger lifting capabilities, along with the faster cycle times you're aware of. This doesn't mean the 300X is a poor performer, but the 300CX is more productive. :)

The 300X also lifts more than it's rated for.. But there is no doubt, if you have the choice of either, go with the CX, but if the X is all they have, and the deal is right, I would buy the X again.

Not on the 3x20 series. The cx has much greater lifting capabilities.
Perhaps I don't understand what is meant by 'quick attach' (or maybe they changed recently), but the 300CX on my 3520 just requires you to pull a couple of pins, disconnect the hydraulic lines and drive the tractor away from the loader.

I believe that some of the new 3000 series (old 790/990) have a more 'permanent' mounting system, but the 3x20 series is quick-attach.

The confusion is on the 2xxx tractors where the 200X is not a quick-tach loader but the 200CX is. Both of the 300 loaders are quick-tach. :)
